What You'll Explore

Workshop in progress
01

The Science of Trauma

Understanding how trauma affects the brain, body, and nervous system β€” and why this matters for every therapeutic relationship.

02

Polyvagal Theory in Practice

An accessible introduction to polyvagal theory and how to apply it in sessions to support nervous system regulation.

03

The Window of Tolerance

Recognising hyper- and hypo-arousal states, and practical ways to help clients find and widen their window of tolerance.

04

Complex & Developmental Trauma

Differentiating single-incident trauma from complex and developmental trauma, and adapting your approach accordingly.

05

Trauma-Informed Principles

The six core principles of trauma-informed care and how to embed them into every aspect of your practice.

06

Working Safely with Trauma

Boundaries, pacing, stabilisation, and self-care β€” protecting both you and your clients throughout the therapeutic process.

Is This For You?

Who Will Benefit

This workshop is designed for qualified and trainee counsellors and therapists who want to work more confidently and compassionately with trauma.

01

Qualified Counsellors

Practitioners looking to deepen their trauma knowledge and refresh their CPD portfolio.

02

Trainee Therapists

Students building foundational understanding before entering practice with complex presentations.

03

Person-Centred Practitioners

Therapists who want to integrate a trauma-informed lens without changing their core modality.

04

CBT & Integrative Therapists

Anyone who wants to better understand how trauma shows up in cognitive and behavioural presentations.

05

Counselling Supervisors

Supervisors supporting supervisees who regularly encounter trauma in their caseloads.

06

Helping Professionals

Social workers, educators, nurses, and coaches who want to work more trauma-consciously.

This workshop is not trauma therapy.

It's an educational CPD day designed to build professional knowledge and skills. If you're looking for personal therapeutic support around your own trauma, please speak with your GP or a qualified trauma therapist.
